Busy week!

It has been a busy week here in our little music studio!

Ms. Lacey's piano students have been swashbuckling pirates for the past three weeks and oh what fun we've been having with our pirate practice challenges! With fun crew names like "Peg-Leg Peggy", "Killer Keani", and "Jewel-Thief Julie", students have been memorizing measures, composing sea shanties, and collecting doubloons like true sea-worthy bilge rats! But who will be the swarthiest pirate of the oceans to earn the most doubloons and their very own treasure cheast? Will it be "Estrella Roja Haley"? "Admiral Abby"? "Nautical Naya"? "Island Iza"? "Seadog Sonja"??? Only one week remains and students are one challenge away from finding the loot!

"Map-Hunter Matteo" composes his pirate tune

Ms. Danielle's voice students have been working on their skills and trying new things with their voices. Used to singing with a country-pop twang? Try singing opera! Used to belting out Broadway? Try a lyrical ballad! Several voice students auditioned for "The Music Man" at San Luis Obispo Little Theatre. Congratulations to all of them for facing their fears and working hard on an audition piece! We look forward to hearing about casting after March 13th.
